Fluid Simulation and Advanced CFD

Stream of glowing molten metal pouring from a tilting ladle into a crucible, in a dimly lit foundry.
We use computational fluid dynamics to understand and optimize the thermal and operational behavior of equipment.

When it's needed

Does your process match any of these cases?

  • Your process depends on complex heat transfer that handbook coefficients don't capture.
  • You have a risk of freezing, stratification or dead zones in thermal fluids such as molten salts.
  • You need to verify the mixing or reaction in a stirred tank or a reactor before building it.
  • The system's pressure drop penalizes energy consumption and you want to optimize geometries.

What we do

From thermal behavior to the design decision.

We go beyond conventional hydraulics to understand how the fluid behaves under real conditions.

  • Complex heat transfer

Forced and natural convection, radiation and phase changes, in steady-state and transient regimes.

  • Mixing and reaction

Simulation of stirred tanks and reactors: velocity fields, mixing times, homogeneity.

  • Loss optimization

Design of profiles and geometries to minimize pressure drop and maximize system efficiency.

How we do it

Ansys Fluent, tuned to the real physical problem.

We model the phenomenon with Ansys Fluent on high-performance computing hardware, with meshes and turbulence models tuned to the real physical problem. When the thermal or pressure result has structural consequences, we transfer it directly to the mechanical analysis: it's our FSI service.

What we deliver

Results that end in a decision, not in an image.

  • Velocity, temperature and pressure fields of the system.
  • Quantified study of pressure drops and improvement alternatives.
  • Technical report with concrete design recommendations.

Why Vanguard FSI

Technical rigor, controlled risks and calculation ready for certification.

  • A single problem, not two

Where others treat the fluid and the structure separately, we solve the coupled problem. The mechanical results are based on actual temperature and pressure distributions, not on simplifications.

  • Risks detected at the design stage

We identify the critical points before manufacturing: it saves prototypes, repairs and surprises during commissioning.

  • Calculation ready for certification

We work with Ansys Mechanical and Ansys Fluent and deliver complete and traceable calculation reports, prepared for the certification process the project requires.
